Louis Vuitton Mini Pochette: Christmas backstory

Every year, Louis Vuitton releases a series of limited-edition pieces featuring its mascot Vivienne, for the Christmas collection.

Some items from the Christmas 2021 collection. Note: only the top one is mine – the other items belong to my friends. Thanks friends, for loaning them for this shot.

The Christmas collection items are wildly popular – especially the Louis Vuitton Mini Pochette – AND these are near impossible to get without a reliable Sales Associate.

Fortunately, I do have a close relationship with a Sales Associate at LV, who gave me the opportunity to make pre-orders.

Less than two months later, this arrived

However, even with a pre-order, the items are never fully promised. At least in my case, the buyer can only place a deposit, hope for the best, and in the event that the items do not arrive, the boutique can either refund you the money or let you convert it to store credit.

(Disclamer: this is my own experience, and I can’t verify if others can report having the same experience).

Fortunately, I was lucky and my order arrived!

Appearance

The front shows Vivienne viewing sakura (cherry blossoms) in a Japanese Garden, while carrying a Japanese umbrella.

The back resembles any other Louis Vuitton Mini Pochette in the classic LV Monogram print.

Back: the classic LV monogram

At the end of the zipper, the words ‘LOUIS VUITTON PARIS’ and ‘Made in France’ are printed on sakura pink canvas.
And the inside too is a sakura pink fabric lining.

Extra happiness is when you unzip a small leather good and encounter some pink

What fits in the Mini Pochette

Essentially, it fits the basics.

Card holder, Lipstick, and Key Holder

Many people I know, in fact, use the Louis Vuitton Mini Pochette as a catch-all for their makeup or random items such as hair-ties or loose change. That’s totally viable as well – but my demonstration here is to show that it CAN be a very-mini bag in its own right.

Chanel Classic Cardholder

The cardholder alone takes up nearly half the space in there. Add in a keyholder, and literally almost all the space is gone.

But there is room to stuff in a lipstick at the corner.

Lipstick fits nicely in

And that’s about it! Fun fact – when the Louis Vuitton Mini Pochette is properly and evenly stuffed, it actually stands well in an upright manner.

Can you tell its stuffed?

I’ve used this on-and-off, and love how easy and casual it is. I suppose that Louis Vuitton’s canvas does carry super casual vibes. It’s been the case for my LV Neverfull (read review here!), and I’ve had those similar feelings for such free and easy usage for the Mini Pochette too.
