Cat and the Fiddle: complimentary whole cheesecake from American Express

Last year, in 2021, I blogged about how I received a complimentary Cat and the Fiddle cheesecake from American Express.

This year, once again, I got this in the mail…

Thanks to the Amex Platinum Reserve card

Another year has gone by since then. The mail went on to wish me a Happy Birthday, followed by instructions on how to redeem a free cheesecake (whole cheesecake, mind you), courtesy of American Express.

This is for owners of the American Express Platinum Reserve card.

The card has an annual fee of $535 SGD, but as a holder of the Amex Platinum Charge Card, I can keep the Platinum Reserve Card free of charge.

I love the Platinum Charge Card as the lifestyle and dining benefits offered are practically unrivalled. Plus, the ability to additionally enjoy the perks of the Platinum Reserve Card (such as this free cake, additional free 3D2N hotel stay at Fraser Properties, etc) at no extra charge just sweetens the deal

Redeeming Cat and the Fiddle cake

The process is pretty simple.

1) Head to https://amex.catandthefiddle.com/.

Note: this is NOT the usual Cat and the Fiddle website – See ‘amex’ as part of the URL? The usual https://www.catandthefiddle.com/ has no AMEX complimentary birthday cake redemptions

 2) Look through the Cheesecake options.

3) Select a complimentary whole cake of your choice. Yes, you get a WHOLE cake, not just a slice.

In this case, the cheesecake of choice is the Musang Fury: Mao Shan Wang Durian Basque Burnt Cheesecake. Whoot~

4) Choose either regular delivery or self-collection option. For the self-collection option, there are many outlets available for this.

5) Self-collection option only (not applicable to delivery): choose a date and time for pickup.

6) Enter the promo code at checkout. This is the unique promo code sent in the mail. Once the code is entered, the price of the cheesecake would become $0.

Do it before the expiry date indicated in the mail. In my case, as my birthday’s in March, the date given to me is 31st March 2022.

The confirmation of your order also comes in the email. 

Generally, an easy, fuss-free process. The cake was also awesome, the family loved it, and as always I’m grateful to American Express for this gesture to celebrate my birthday.
