Alley on 25 at Andaz Singapore

Alley on 25 is an all-day dining hub at Andaz Singapore hotel.

On weekends and public holidays, Alley on 25 runs the Andaz Lazy Breakfast, a dining concept that includes (i) one main dish from a set menu, which is (ii) accompanied by unlimited local and international appetizers, side dishes, and desserts from the buffet table.

Alley on 25 at Andaz Singapore

Alley on 25’s Lazy Breakfast is hugely popular, so reservations are definitely recommended.

The Andaz Lazy Breakfast is priced at:

  • S$55.00 per adult
  • S$27.00 per child (6 years and under).

If anyone must have alcohol for breakfast, optional add-ons include:

  • S$40 add-on for bottomless Andaz Pilsner, house-pour wines and DIY cocktails
  • S$78 add-on for bottomless Andaz Pilsner, champagne, house-pour wines and DIY cocktails

Juices – included with the most basic Lazy Breakfast price

Breakfast Booze: Comes with an add-on price of S$40 (pilsner, wines, DIY cocktails) or S$78 (all of S$40 items + champagne)

American Express deal: spend and get cashback

We decided to go to Andaz’s Lazy Breakfast because of the Amex Spend and get cashback deal that was happening at the time of visitation (around late September).

Participating Hyatt properties: spend S$300 or more, get S$60 back

Historically, American Express has a tendency for random promotions such as this – and at that time, it was a spend of S$300 at participating properties to get S$60 back.

Given that the Adult price at Andaz’s Alley on 25 was $55++ per adult (Or S$65.34 nett), to maximize the deal, our visitation there involved 5 adults (the husband, myself, and three other friends), and my two children (both who got to dine for free as they were under 6 years of age).

Starters and Appetizers

The spread itself is impressive in variety and the layout is aesthetically pleasing.

Seafood on Ice

Salads, Cold Cuts, Cheese Board

We loved how colourful the whole set up was. Salad lovers – rejoice – there are so many options of fresh and picked vegetables and toppings, with good quality hams / salami / cheese to add-on.

Salad Bar – view from the other side

Of course, what’s a brunch without some bread?

Breads and Pastries

For a selection of yakult, yogurt, fruit, and yogurt-based drinks, check out the refrigerated section.

Yogurt Drinks, Mini Jars, Fruits

Continental and Western

There was of course, classical hot breakfasty-stuff typical of most hotels – sausages, bacon, potatoes, grilled tomatoes. And a made to order egg station.

Sausages, Potatoes, Bacon, Grilled Tomatoes

Typical western fare – but the standard was high. Both the children and adults agreed that the sausages were especially good.

Egg Station

Generally, the servers also kept the items constantly refilled. Service was quick and food trays were rarely left empty for long.

Soup of the Day, Scrambled Eggs, Sauteed Vegetables

Asian and Local

Located in a different section of the buffet, all the Asian and local stuff was positioned next to the wine bottles (see photo below, spot the wines on the right side).

Asian and Local station

For some reason, this area was not as popular as the Wester/ Continental section – likely because the local Singaporeans stereotypically tend to come to hotels for non-local food – but nevertheless the items here are worth mentioning.

Congee and Noodles

There was: a fresh noodle soup bar for noodles made to order, steamed dim sum, and a live satay grill stand.

Steamed Dim Sum

Dim Sum Closeup (Prawn Har Gow and Chicken Siew Mai)

Satay grill area

Bonus: it was kind of entertaining to see the staff cooking away – be it satay or noodles – there is something special about watching your food being prepared in front of you. Indeed, the dining here is about the experience as much as it is about the food itself.

One Main Dish

In Alley on 25’s Lazy Breakfast, paid diners (in our case, the five adults, but not kids) can order one main item from a fixed menu.

As the saying goes, birds of the same feather flock together, so out of the five adults present, four of us ordered this…

Smoked Salmon Bagel (Avruga caviar, herbed scramled egg, micro cress)

This was heavenly. Rich caviar, oily fish, and smooth eggs – held together with a toasted bagel – 10/10 recommended.

still looking pretty despite being cut up

… and one lone adult ordered this.

Eggs Benedict (sourdough, smoked salmon, hollandaise sauce)

Poached eggs and smoked salmon are a divine combination. The hollandaise sauce was a little rich in butter for my liking, but our friend loved it and ate every drop. To each his own, in this case.

Pro-tip: this is the original dish, but add a little ham and more vegetables from the buffet table for an extra bit of oomph.

Desserts

The best way to end a meal is with dessert.

Dessert Table

The range of items was alright, but again, the quality and presentation was highly impressive.

Chocolate Mouse Cake (i suspect a spelling error. Chocolate MOUSSE is more likely)

We loved how the dessert has all been presented in little bite-sized pieces, or tiny cups that are so cute and pretty.

Cream Fresh Pudding – true to its name, this was super fresh!

As always, the helpful staff were constantly on standby to assist and refill.

Apple Crumble Cake

Something special and a must-try: CHURROS. Dusted in cinnamon sauce and accompanied either by caramel, raspberry, or their in-house churros sauce.

These were so good – hot, crispy, sweet and savoury all at once. I had about four of them, and was midly regretful that my stomach couldn’t be challenged to stuff in some more. Ah well.

Cinnamon Churros and sauce

Or get creative, and do a churros with soft serve ice cream. One of our friends did it, but alas, she ate it so fast, I couldn’t get a picture. Sorry folks!

soft serve + toppings

Just before you leave (or while you’re dining), be sure to grab a cup of popcorn. The aroma of freshly popped corn here makes both the kids and adults so happy.

Popcorn!

Overall, it was an amazing Lazy Breakfast at Andaz’s Alley on 25. For some reason, the whole experience generated a lot of happiness and makes you feel like the rest of the day is gonna be good one.

Highly recommended, and 100% will look for an opportunity to return.

American Express cashback promotion

Note: At the time of dining, with a qualifying American Express credit card, card holders who saved the deal to the card – Spend S$300 at participating Hyatt properties for S$60 cashback – could enjoy its benefits.

Andaz Alley on 25 review: Lazy Breakfast

– Pricing = $55.00 per adult

– Sub-Total for x5 adults = $275.00

(Note: as our two children were 6 years and under, both kids could dine for free).

– 10% Service Charge: $27.50

– 8% GST: $24.20

Total: $326.70

With the Amex cashback promotion, final amount was S$326.70 – 60 = S$266.70 for five adults (or S$53.34 for x1 pax if averaged out).
